As technology is advancing, and clients' demands are rising, we are doing our best to stay tuned and offer state of the art techniques and services.

 

Diagnostic testing is increasingly possible for selected problems in medical oncology. This includes more sensitive diagnostic assays, the provision of genetic information required for more refined prognosis treatment, and continued individualized management of certain cancer-related problems. 

 

We have access to local and international academic laboratories for genetic and molecular pathology diagnostics, and are able to co-ordinate investigations and analyses which require to be performed outside our own facilities. A comprehensive one-step service is therefore available to assist physicians and their patients with genetic and molecular pathology issues. 

 

Molecular Biology techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR and FISH are available as a routine service for molecular based diagnosis adjacent to the conventional and traditional diagnosis. 

 

All the molecular tests may be performed from the same specimens used for routine diagnostic purposes, namely formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues and glass slides of cytological material. 

 

The following molecular tests may be provided:

  1. PCR analysis of the immunoglobulin heavy chain gene rearrangement for the assessment of the clonality of B cells for the molecular diagnosis of B cell lymphoma.
  2. PCR analysis of the T cell receptor gamma gene rearrangement for the assessment of the clonality of T cells for the molecular diagnosis of T cell lymphoma.
  3. PCR analysis of the t (14,18) translocation for supporting the diagnosis of follicular lymphoma.
  4. PCR analysis of the t (11,14) translocation for supporting the diagnosis of mantle cell lymphoma.
  5. PCR analysis of the IS6110 sequence, specific for mycobacterium tuberculosis.
  6. RT-PCR analysis of the t (11,22 ) (q24,q12 ) (EWS-FLI1) for molecular diagnosis of Ewing's/PNET sarcoma.
  7. RT-PCR analysis of the t (X,18 ) (p11,q11 ) for molecular diagnosis of synovial sarcoma.
  8. RT-PCR analysis of the tyrosinase gene, specific for melanocytic cells, for the detection micrometastases of melanoma.
  9. FISH analysis of HER2/Neu status for prognosis and treatment in breast carcinoma.
